Application Processing Times

Current processing times for enduring power of attorney arrangement applications

The DSS is experiencing high volumes of applications for the creation of an enduring power of attorney, and as such, processing times are currently longer than expected. Current processing times for enduring power of attorney applications are noted below and will be updated with new information as processing times change.

MyDSS digital applications

We are currently working on digital applications submitted to us in March.

Once your enduring power of attorney application has been submitted digitally to the DSS there is a statutory five-week objection period. Once this five-week objection period passes your application enters a queue for review.

Manual Applications

We are currently working on manual applications sent to us in January.

The alternative manual process for enduring power of attorney applications to the DSS has longer processing times as additional steps are required to digitise the application before the application is submitted.

Before your manual application is submitted, you must have:

  • A fully verified MyDSS account.
  • A fully verified MyDSS account for supporter(s).
  • Completed and returned manual application form.
  • Completed and returned unique supporting documents for arrangement.
  • Completed payment for application.

If you have not completed all the above steps your application has not been “submitted” to the DSS. Once your application has been submitted to the DSS there is a statutory five-week objection period. Once this five-week objection period passes your arrangement application enters a queue for review.
