DSS presents to the Joint Committee on Disability Matters

The Director of the Decision Support Service, Áine Flynn - and members of her team - met with the Joint Committee on Disability Matters this morning to provide an update on progress towards service commencement.
Accompanying the Director were Head of Supervision, Kate Frowein, and Head of Complaints and Investigations, Patsy Fitzsimons.
Amending legislation in the form of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) (Amendment) Bill 2022) – which is required for the full commencement of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 - is currently progressing through the Seanad. As we have stated previously, once the Act is commenced in full, the services of the DSS will be available to the public.
